The electron paramagnetic resonance (ESR) spectrometer is designed to measure the microwave absorption dependence of material containing paramagnetic particles on a magnetostatic field induction. The spectrometer allows registering the presence of paramagnetic centers in the material, as well as determining their concentration. In particular spectrometer can be used to measure the concentration of free radicals in solutions and dry material samples.
The spectrometer VIGT.421400.012 has autodyne microwave tract that allows simplifying system design and reducing its cost. The device is placed on the same table with the personal computer. The spectrometer is simple to operate, reliable and maintenance-free.
As a result spectrometer is widely used in the educational process. In particular, the spectrometer VIGT.421400.012 is used in laboratory-based practical courses of such Moscow universities as Moscow State University and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Measuring cell of the spectrometer is a microwave resonator which is installed in the space between the electromagnet poles. Test substance in dielectric ampoule is injected into the resonator center through the hole in the sidewall. The second hole is made coaxially to this hole in such a way that tube can be inserted through both holes and the center of the resonator. This allows control of substances in a flow.
Spectrometer control, recording and processing of measurements results is made by a personal computer with Windows OS connected to the spectrometer by USB, RS232 or RS485 interface. The measurement results are displayed as graphs of the EPR spectrum. The program provides an opportunity to average and collect spectra, to save spectra and to print them.
